This is my third theme project. It is a cylinder that is about 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The main art element is color and value. The elements create the contrast between light and dark, but also have balance between the two.
This is my second theme project. It is about 6 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide. The main art element is color with the black and white and it creates contrast between the dark and light elements of thisbe project.
This is my first theme project. It is about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. The main art element is color and it creates the contrast between the light and dark elements on this project. This project is a cylinder and represents my newfound ability to pull the wall in an even manner.
This is my double wall project. It is disc shaped, about 1.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The main art elements are space and texture, and they emphasize the pattern of the holes to create a beehive looking object. I had to learn a new skill for this project, similar to making a planter but slightly different. I had to pull both walls and merge them together to make a closed, hollow object. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!
This is my set of 3. They range from about 5 inches tall to 6 inches tall, and 5 inches wide to 7.5 inches wide. The main element that binds them together is the blue and green mixture, representing the Northwest and its natural blue and green tones. The main art element of these is color, which emphasizes movement and unity.
These are my two plates. They are both about 1/2 an inch tall and 5 inches in diameter. The main art element for these two projects is line and color, which leads the main design element, emphasis, in the flowers and lines I drew on the plates. I think I way overdid the first one with lines but I'm a fan of the second one, and I'll keep refining my plate skills!
This is our frankenpot. My group consisted of Cole, Molly, and I. I threw the base, Molly threw the middle, and Cole threw the top. Coles piece actually got pushed into a paper towel dispenser, and we solved it and fixed it by squaring off the top. The pieces actually did not fit super well, so I had to use more than a fair amount of slip to hold them together, but it works!
